The makers of Proactiv are back with another line of acne products sporting the edgy name of X Out. This 1-step line of acne products includes a wash-in treatment, spot corrector, shine control, and body scrub.
X Out is currently being sold in three different kits: a Body Kit, Shine Kit, and Basic Kit. All three contain the Wash-In Treatment. The first two both contain the Spot Corrector, while the Body Kit has a Body Scrub and the Shine Kit has a tube of Shine Control.
- Wash-In Treatment: 8.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, exfoliators, and a super moisture complex. Simply wash and rinse for all-day effectiveness.
- Spot Corrector: Sulfer, Vitamin E, Allantoin, Tea Tree Oil. Used to spot-correct problem blemishes.
- Daily Body Scrub: 2% Salicylic Acid. Used for body acne and to unclog pores and fight blackheads and whiteheads. Suitable for face and body.
- Shine Control: Moisture Complex and Mattifying Complex. Reduces pore size while soothing and hydrating skin.
As of this writing (November 2015), X Out is being advertised with their “newbrush” campaign which provides an Xtra Deep Clean Brush as your free gift with your order.
As a whole, consumers reviews for X Out tend to be somewhat lukewarm, with a large minority claiming that it has not provided dramatic results seen on the product website or in television advertisements. There are of course a number of those who felt that it provided excellent results. The differences in opinion are similar to reviews found for other acne products, because treating acne can be a complex undertaking and not everyone will achieve the same results.
Further, skin types and the different products offered by X Out are all contributing factors. You may want to consider exactly what you are trying to correct before taking the plunge.
In our unscientific opinion, we found the Wash-In Treatment to be the most effective of the bunch. This is obviously due to the 8.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, which has been a proven choice to fight acne. The Daily Body Scrub is another solid offering, which is effective, yet not unique against competing products which can be found in most drug stores, such as Clearasil face washes which only run about $5.
The spot corrector is effective, although there are other similar products that can be found locally.
The active ingredients of X Out are effective, but can typically be found locally in less expensive products.

As mentioned above, when you puchase from the official product website, you will be faced with an auto-ship program, the terms of which read:
Approximately 4 weeks after your first order is shipped, and then approximately every 12 weeks thereafter, you will be sent a new 90 day supply of X Out®. Each shipment will be charged to the card you provide today, in three installments, approximately every 4 weeks at the guaranteed low price of $29.95 plus $3.99 for shipping and handling per installment, unless you call to cancel.
