Although The Go Plate appears to be in the middle of a new marketing campaign, it would appear – based on the age of the product’s Facebook page – that it is a not new item. Whereas the Facebook page promotes 7 colors, the official website only lists two (blue and red). It may be a safe assumption that the marketing and product have been taken over by a third party which does not offer the original colors.
Go Plate has a tapered, hollowed center which allows the plate to be placed on a cup, can or glass – or for a bottle to be inserted through it. The design does allow consumers to hold a plate and drink in a single hand with ease. The only time you may need to use two hands is when taking a drink.
The plate itself is more sturdy than a paper plate, and would be perfect for parties or other functions involving standing and mingling. The four compartments seem ample enough to hold plenty of food, and cups hold the plate securely enough so that you don’t feel like you’re balancing everything.
Similar Products
Although the specific design of Go Plate is unique, it is not the first product to allow one-handed holding of a drink and plate. Competing products would include Holdaplate and Closer Plate. As Seen on TV aficionados may also recall a kids product called Snackeez, which allows the holding of a drink and snack in a single unit.
