Star Shower Laser Light Reviews
This product is brought to you by As Seen on TV heavyweight Telebrands, which has delivered some of the most visible products to the TV airwaves. Star Shower Laser Light was released in 2015, with its website first appearing in January of that year, while its Facebook and Twitter pages were created in March and April respectively.
Although Star Shower Laser Light is advertised as something that can be used all year long, its Christmas-themed red and green options tend to limit its use to the Winter holidays. One would hope that a red-white-blue option may become available for use in on such occasions as Memorial Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, and Labor Day. Note: This did occur with the lesser known “Star Shower Patriot” that appeared months later.
We had an opportunity to try out Star Shower Laser Light and the results were surprisingly impressive. Although it might take the full 6 pack to achieve some of the dramatic results shown in the advertising, a single unit does seem ample for a room or small area. Some of our readers have expressed concerns about the safety of laser lights, which is not really addressed on the product website. We have reached out to the company for clarification and will update this page if and when they respond.
It appears that Star Shower Laser Lights were briefly test marketed before being highlighted in infomercials and then rolling out to retailers.
Be sure to read dozens of comments on Accroya.com its corresponding LockerDome page. There appear to be a number of consumers who have expressed concerns about the product’s durability. Complaints vary from a single color not working to the unit stopping functioning after a short period of time.
We recommend purchasing locally so that if you encounter such problems, the returns process would be more easily handled.
As noted above, Star Shower Motion is the follow-up that has been highly touted in 2016. That product’s release has led many retailers to drop the price of the original Star Shower Laser Light from $40 down to about $30.
Related Products
There are a number of outdoor laser light products available, averaging around $60-$120.

Updated December 2017 from its original July 2015 publication.
I just received my 6 pack of Star Showers. It is, with out question, a beautiful display!
I am mainly wanting it for inside use, which it advertised as inside or out. The minute you take the light out you see, “Danger- Laser Radiation when open. AVOID DIRECT EXPOSURE TO BEAM.” The beam spreads out every where… How close is “too close?” It needs a lot more detail !!! I wanted to give some as gifts, but now, I have great concerns!
What a gimmick! I would need AT LEAST 10 to light up the house & I live in the mountains where there are no street lights, just pitch dark. Standing right behind where the light was placed it looked beautiful but once you walk away off to the side or to the road you couldn’t even see it, just a glow if that. The screw on the handle fell out as soon as I tried to adjust it. Perhaps it would work better on a flat surfaced light colored house with no landscaping or trees? It looks great inside in a room but outside its a joke. There is a warning label to “avoid direct exposure” to the beam…how would you place it inside where you or your pets don’t have a risk being exposed or even seeing the the beam? Impossible. I am taking it back to get my money back I have better things to spend 40 bucks on!
I wouldn’t recommend this as a gift, Think they would be better off with a gift card and you wouldn’t be thought of giving JUNK for a gift?
Everyone expecting to have one by Christmas…take warning! They don’t tell you that the expected delivery time is between 3 and 6 weeks. On the email order confirmation, there is no way to track delivery via FEDEX, UPS, USPS, etc. That is very disappointing. We will in all likelihood not have this up by Christmas.
I was told the same thing on 12/7/15. I got it today. they do have a tracking system. Check out the confirmation e-mail they sent. Looking forward to trying it out tonight.
If you have ever had your eyes “dazzled” by a laser pointer, you should have an idea of what it might be like to be inside the projection area of this device. Seeing people with laser dots on their faces, in the infomercial, creeped me out. Interesting concept, but I’m waiting for more information before I buy; like what a laser ‘expert’ representingthe seller has to say about this.
Thanks, for confirming my concerns. Once again, the lights are beautiful, but not to the point of blinding anyone! I already knew, I needed to return them. I’m, definitely, going to now. Thank again!
We ordered one and I love it. However after 6 nights use the red laser will not work anymore. So I have all green lights and only half as many. I called the company and they are sending out a new one. they were very nice and ready to help. My main concern is, is the new light going to do the same? I do love it and so hope that the 1st one was just a bad light.
Same issue. After just 3 hrs red laser gone.
Both units did the same after 1 hour , Good Luck with your replacement. But I wouldn’t get your Hopes up?
Hi Cindy,
What phone number or email address did you use to call the company because I can’t find one.
Thank you,
Melissa
I thought this would be an easy solution to Christmas lights. I bought one and when I tested it the green light didn’t work so I returned it for a new one. Should have just gotten my money back. The second one worked fine for a few weeks. Now the red light is gone.
I’d be concerned about aircraft safety and stray laser light shining into my neighbors windows.
Honey, they are not going to harm your neighbors house, when you cut yours on,and step back or off to the side you won’t even see then on your on house.they are a rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lights are not worth the money.
A.Lo,the star shower laser lights won’t harm your neighbors house.when you cut yours on and step back so many feet,or off to the side if yours are like ours you won’t even see then in your own yard!!!!!!!
I am curious on how these hold up and if they will offer other color changes red and green are fine but I really like white to be used as fairy lights. I will be following.
I thought the same thing when I purchased some similar lights. I did some research on the web and found out that it is more difficult to make a “white” laser light and not cost effective. Other companies make light with a single color (green, red, or blue). I got all three thinking that I could use the red and blue together for patriotic holidays, red by itself for valentine’s day and red and green for Christmas.
Where did you purchase the single color lights?
Brought this cheaper laser product and Tried it out, and returned it. I had already bought two lasers from holidayoutdoorlasers.com and their products are far more superior to the star shower lasers. I highly recommend holidayoutdoorlasers.com
Are you kidding? The website at holidayoutdoorlasers.com looks like a scam. The photos they used are obviously edited (poorly) in Paint. They have no real word examples. I would not trust my money with them at all.
Our house is single story and about 65 feet across the front. One unit lights the whole house but you have to realize that the light is sent out in a cone pattern and you must position it far enough away to cover the area you are dealing with. Any intervening shrubs or trees will be illuminated rather than your house. Speaking of trees, the effect on foliage is amazing and surpasses the visual effect on my house.
received two of them today. still daylight, indoors, turned them on. needed to one time cover the lens with my hand to trick them into thinking it was dark. they stayed on by themselves after that. at dark took the two 35 feet from the house, the two of them covered the full 72 feet of ranchstyle very well, even the distant treetops behind the house and the 16 foot width of landscaping in front of the house., and off to the side also. very good “saturation” of light points. turned them around to shine up a 100 feet or more of plantation pines, 25 feet tall, the two star showers covered full width clear to the top nicely. a dazzling display ! looked like a fairy land full of fireflies. The two together gave me a much wider and taller “show” than i ever expected.
Can it be just red …?
You can shine just green or red and green together. You can not shine just red.
Will one cover a two story townhouse that is about 40 feet wide?
When will it be illegal to sell garbage like this from Telebrands, Phil Swifty, Mark Gill and all of these other lying hucksters?
This is a worthless and a scam!
Mine lights the entire front of my ranch style home and a small part of the trees on the sides and over the roof.
Yeah mine work fine as far as coverage(when they functioned properly).
I can only assume Don is not very smart and didnt try…you know…moving the light a little further away from his house.
Did you try moving it back further away from your house.? The further back you move it, the bigger surface it covers. I’ll take yours if you don’t want it. I love mine and this is two years later.
How can it only cover eight feet u must live in a well lit area if its dark its awesome
Hello all, I reside in Boston, and I just recently purchased this product. I will test the lighting effects out on my property with my Christmas decorations and return with feedback. This is the 1st time ordering anything from an infomercial, so I hope it lives up to the expectation.
Don’t waste your time and money on this. believe me do the research on the comments and use your better judgment, I wish I did before purchasing.
We bought a starshower at Wal-Greens here in Lakeside, Ca.on Thurs. Nov. 19th. The first one worked perfectly for 10 minutes after which the green color faded to a blue and was very faint. We returned it for another one, my 7 year old broken hearted and me hoping it was a fluke.. Well the new one works fairly well with the green however the red only makes faint red much larger dots. I assume it has something with how it is aimed. There should be a focus adjustment mabey on future models because I don’t know if they dropped them in the store or what but I wish I had one that worked as seen on TV. I also think charging for the base separately is shocking. My oldest daughter is Autistic and loves the way it looks in her room, but wants the red dots to be the same as the green.
Bought my first one last week Nov, 2015 at Wal-Mart. $40.00. Drove 30 minutes to get it & 30 minutes back home. Was excited to set it up, then dissapointed very quickly. Immediately out of the box the green led kept fading in & out. Then it just went out. I drove another hour the next day to exchange it .the 2nd one worked for a day then the green light stopped working & the red light has faded. Looks like I’ll be making another hour trip to return it. What a waste of my time. I’m just getting my money back this time. I can get a $15 one at big lots closer to home. Not worth $40. Cheaply made.
I first saw similar lights shining in the trees at a campground. They looked like a million fireflies! It was awesome. The owners of the light said they paid over $150 for 1 light. I was so happy to see these for $40. I don’t expect the quality and longevity to be the same but this is better than the nothing I would have if they were all $150 each. My husband bought a 3 pack for me and a 3 pack for our very best friend (she has a tropical back yard that they look amazing in). I hope they work for a very long time.
Very frustrated
I just returned the first one I bought because its light dimmed within 30 seconds and you could barley see the lights, now the second one the green light is not working but the red one is bright. tired of returning defective product.
You don’t have to post I see others think it’s a gimmick as well. The truth is just the truth.
Haven’t got one of two to work yet, this one will get returned as well. If you get any to work you will need a dozen to light up the outside of the house. I would not recommend this product even to someone I may dis-like. looks good on TV, but you know what AS SEEN ON TV doesn’t work when you get it home. BEWARE
Will return light tomorrow. Red died after one night!
Definitely not what they show on TV. If they would stay lit and you didn’t have to have so many to get decent results.
Consider this: The manufacturer said to aim the laser directly at one’s home. According to the manufacturer, Star Shower’s ultra bright laser lights can project from 100 yards away. HOWEVER, this product carries a warning “Lasers must meet rigorous FDA regulations and Consumer Product Safety standards. Star Shower should be pointed directly at your home and never directly into the sky. Lasers should not be projected at or within the flight path of an aircraft within 10 nautical miles of an airport. If your intended surface is within 10 nautical miles of an airport, lower the angle of the Star Shower so that no lasers point into the sky.”
The manufacturer thinks it’s ok for us, as consumers, to have this device pointed directly at our home and yet it can’t be pointed skyward if we live within 10 nautical miles of an airport. If it’s not safe to aircraft at 10 nautical miles how can it possibly be safe at less than 100 yards? It seems to me there is a major disconnect between those 2 statements. Both statements can’t possibly be accurate. If the product is not safe for aircraft within 10 nautical miles, how can it possibly be safe for people with the laser less than 100 yards away and pointed directly at our home?
Just today the FAA said they were investigating a holiday laser light display in Texas after a laser light hit an American Airlines plane at 13,000 feet. They didn’t say what kind of display.
How safe are the star shower laser lights to cats and dogs who look out the windows and The laser lights are shinning at them ???
Bought 4 of these. 2 worked.
Returned those 2 and got 2 more.
1 of those 2 didn’t work.
Returned that 1 and the replacement was…you guessed it. Broken.
Returned and finally got another working unit.
Yikes.
I spent $40 each and I bought 2. Looked Great at first and easy to set up. then ONE WEEK later the red light has gone out. Cheap!! Now I am out $40 bucks and messed up my Christmas Decorations.
I ordered a star shower from the infomercial and it was a complete lie! I ordered this product in October and they told me that i will get it on the 27th of that month but I still haven’t received it in December. They gave me a tracking number and I went to the post office to check up on it and they told me that the tracking number didn’t exist. I tried calling back but they do not cooperate with me.I would not recommend ANYONE to buy this product. It’s a scam.
Maybe this concept will improve by next year but for now, I would stay away from this waste of money. They are a major disappointment!!!
I bought 2 and they worked for about a week and a half. one has now gone out. I will not be buying another one…Junk.
We loved the lights, easy to install and was beautiful especially since we live in the country. Very upset that on one of the red light stopped working. Some of our friends had the same problem. Waste of money since nothing about getting a new one from the company. Says will save money from competitors whose cost more. Well if they don’t work, you will spend more just to have working lights. Hope company will replace otherwise I would recommend staying away from the . Also, in the city thieves stole many peoples devices. Very sad if the company doesn’t rip you off a thief will. Please offer repair or exchange for lights that stopped working. Want to purchase more but until replacement, I refuse. Would also be great to have other colors for Mardi Gras (purple, gold, green) as we celebrate with lights and many decoration. Different colors would be great for birthdays too. Kids would go crazy for their special day.
I bought the laser lights , they quit working after a rain cannot get telebrand to respond. I won’t ever buy them again , they are junk and a rippoff and the company is a rippoff also SCAM. DO NOT BUY
Can’t get a response from the company, just the run around.
I bought two, and I only lasted days. It is a shame to continue selling these lights. Overpriced and poor durability. IT’S A RIPOFF.
I have requested instructions for sending the defective unit in for repair or replacement. We’ll see how Star Shower handles the request and report back.
Don’t buy, they are a rip off!!!
I think they’re finally coming out with something other than green and red. We’ll see. The first version wasn’t so good.
My Star Shower ($100 aud ) lasted one season. This year a week then failed . I would not recommend . Really for the money I expected more than a month`s use.
Cord is not long enough & directions say NOT to use an extension cord. So pretty much useless for outside use which is what I got it for. Too much of a hassle, going right back to the store to get my money back!
