Clarins Double Serum Review: Does it Work?
• Smooth texture
• Absorbs quickly
• Proven ingredients
• Excellent hydration
• Expensive
• Contains perilla seed oil
• Opens pores
Clarins Double Serum is a solid entrant in the skincare arena. It provides many solid benefits and has amassed an impressive customer consensus. A minority of users have said it didn't work or led to breakouts. Cost is an unfortunate con in an otherwise fine product.

Clarins Double Serum Reviews
Skincare serums are all the rage in recent years, and Clarins Double Serum Completely Age Control Concentrate is a higher end offering in this category. It is the latest incarnation of several “Double Serums” which have been offered in recent years.
With results said to occur in as little as one week, Double Serum is said to tighten skin with a complex of “powerful plant extracts.”
You’ll find that Double Serum includes two different serums in separate sections of the bottle. Depressing the pump will dispense both serums together. Under the hood you’ll find several beneficial skincare ingredients.
- Organic Green Banana
- Katafray Extract
- Kiwi Extract
- Maritime Pine
A glance at the remaining ingredients also shows Perilla Ocymoides Seed Oil, which can be an irritant to some people, as well as mineral oil which some readers have said caused breakouts.
We found Clarins Double Serum to go on smoothly and absorb quickly. Some reviewers have stated that the floral fragrance is strong, but we found it to be somewhat mild and acceptable. It is an excellent product for hydration and overall skin brightness.
Reviews around the web are mostly positive, with a notable exception. Paula’s Choice readers give it 4 stars, while the expert review gives it a dismal 1 star. Amazon readers give it a solid 4.5 star rating, while around 200 readers at Sephora give it a 4 star nod.
Skincare is always going to be subjective, and what works for the majority may not work for you. There are those who have said Clarins Double Serum did nothing for them, and others who felt it led to breakouts. The price is perhaps the biggest point of contention we have, as it is certainly on the high end of the scale. There are other skincare serums which have excellent reader reviews that are priced well below this product.
One reader gave us a “pro tip” to mix in the serum with your moisturizer. While we haven’t tried this, it is said to stretch the product even further. If you’ve tried that technique, let us know in the comments below.
Overall we feel that Clarins Double Serum will be enjoyed by the majority of customers who try it. The product has excellent hydration, absorbs quickly, and uses many well-known skincare ingredients.
